Joost created an incredible amount of buzz and excitement around the launch of their beta. While the initial interest generated was high, repeat use declined quickly, and abandonment, indicative of usability became a concern for the Venice Project/Skype backed start up.
A UI prototype was developed to inform the implementation of the new UI, codenamed Spoon. A number of key UI improvements were directly implemented into the new interface.
